What we checked, and what we did not test
Logo generators all work the same way from the outside: type a business name, get a wall of options, find one you like. The moment that decides whether the product was useful comes after that, when you click download and find out whether a file arrives, what format it is, and whether a payment screen appears first.
Vector is the point. A PNG is a picture of a logo at one size; an SVG is the logo. So on 6 August 2026 we opened each vendor’s pricing page looking for one thing: what an unpaid user downloads, and in what format. We quote what we found. We did not generate logos or click download.
One of the four gives you the vector for free, and it is the one attached to a company that makes its money elsewhere. The other three are all free to design and paid to keep, and each states that bargain plainly. Where they differ is what the first payment buys: Looka’s cheapest package is $20 for a single low-resolution PNG, with vector held back for the $65 tier, while Brandmark bundles PNG and vector together at $35.

Shopify’s logo maker is the rare case on this site where the free plan hands over exactly the thing you came for, in the format that matters.

The page states both halves of the answer: "Download high-resolution PNG and SVG files ready to use on social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn", and "The logo you design with Shopify's logo creator is 100% free and yours to own." A free user leaves with a vector file, which is the thing the rest of this category charges for.
